The World Health Organisation (WHO) and International Labour Organisation (ILO) have revealed a distressing fact about the payscale of women in the healthcare sector.
According to the joint report, women are paid 24 per cent less than men. Ironically women make up 67 per cent of the total workforce available globally.
In general, there was a 20pc pay gap between male and female health workers. However, when parameters like age, education, and service time were analysed, the gap surged to 24pc. The report has strengthened the claim of women being underpaid in multiple sectors.
