KARACHI: Justice (R) Wajihuddin Ahmed has once again reiterated that his statement regarding Jahangir Khan Tareen paying Prime Minister Imran Khan Rs.5 million every month for household expenses was true. He was talking to the media here, speaking alongside the MQM leader Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.

Ahmed, in response to the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry’s statement earlier today, said that anyone who wanted to file a defamation case against him could do so since the courts were open.

The reason for his visit to the MQM headquarters is not yet known. MQM is an important ally of the PTI government. The two parties have had a tumultuous relationship with the Prime Minister Imran Khan having met the allies recently to get the controversial bill of EVMs passed in the parliament. Even though the alliance parties had then agreed to support the government, they had told the government their reservations categorically.

Meanwhile, the PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen had sent out a tweet yesterday denouncing that he had never paid a penny to Imran Khan. When pointed out what Tareen tweeted yesterday, Ahmed said that he [Tareen] said so because had no other option.
