Shuja Haider claims copyright on Indian song

Popular local music icon Shuja Haider has expressed anger at the recently released Indian song ‘Piya Re Piya‘ which he claims is a copy of his composition of the famous TV serial’s OST ‘Baaghi’. In a tweet, he shared the grievances and tagged the Indian musicians concerned who have composed the music.

The Indian song ‘Piya Re Piya‘ has been composed by Rashid Khan and sung by Yasser Desai. The Indian music video has just tempered the words and followed the similar composition of Haider. He, in a tweet, said that Rashid Khan and Yasser Desai had copied his work and he’s not feeling proud of the said act.

Indian Music directors Yasser Desai and Rashid Khan copied my original song “Baghi “and I am not proud of it. Absolutely not!#Apnabanaao@iamrealasim @yasserdesai @rashidkhan_19 pic.twitter.com/YaUYWyr7rw

Both songs have glaring similarities, as the Indian composition has used different lyrics but the melody is same as that of Baaghi’s OST. Listeners may find the chorus different, but both songs have the same verses. Fans have also shown anger and are asking for justice for Shuja Haider.
