Shoaib Malik leaves squad due to son’s illness

DHAKA: Pakistan’s experienced middle-order batsman Shoaib Malik will not be available for selection for third T20I against Bangladesh after he decided to leave squad due to his son’s illness.

Shoaib Malik has already left for Dubai from here. The men’s national T20I squad will leave for Dubai tomorrow at 6:30PM local time.

Spinners Imad Wasim and Usman Qadir will spend some time with their families in Dubai before departing for Pakistan.

The men’s national Test squad will leave for Chittagong from Dhaka at 3:30PM tomorrow.

Pakistan are scheduled to play Bangladesh in the first Test from November 26 in Chittagong. Bowling Consultant Vernon Philander will also leave the squad after the first Test and will leave for South Africa on December 1.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will lock horns in the second and final Test from December 4 in Dhaka.
