SBP turns down rumours of new currency notes’ designs

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has categorically turned down the rumours regarding the new designs of currency notes in a tweet on Tuesday. The social media was abuzz with rumours that SBP was considering redesigning the currency notes.

SBP took to Twitter to dispel the rumours.

“Some fake news regarding new designs of currency notes is circulating on social media. SBP categorically denies the news and clarifies that no such proposal is under consideration at the moment,” the central bank tweeted.

It has been more than a decade since a currency note was last redesigned by the State Bank.
