The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Monday night, condemning the alleged United States’ interference in Pakistan’s internal matters, calling it “another attempt of the US’s unimaginable intervention in the internal affairs of the independent state for its narrow-minded purposes.”
The statement comes in light of the accusations thrown at the US by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan who said that there was a foreign conspiracy being hatched to oust his government from power after he went on a trip to Moscow earlier this year.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the US was trying to punish a ‘disobedient’ Imran by trying to have him removed from power. It is pertinent to mention here that the National Security Committee had acknowledged the contents of the letter as “undiplomatic” and called it a direct interference in the matters of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
