WHEN Asif Ali smashed Karim Janat all around the park for four sixes, he did not only win the game for Pakistan but also made sure that he stamped his authority as the ‘finisher’ in the Pakistani side. His selection has been a subject of debate for months among the fans, media circles, analysts, and armchair experts.
In all fairness though, none were wrong on all occasions as Asif had struggled to translate his success at the domestic level to international prior to his heroics at the ongoing T20 World Cup. For those, who don’t know him, Asif Ali is a Pakistani cricketer who has a terrific striking record at the Pakistan Super League.
It is at the biggest stage of all where he has struggled in the past. But with his superb performances in the tournament so far, even the England all-rounder Ben Stokes, who was at the receiving end of Carlos Brathwaite onslaught and the famous ‘Remember the name‘ remark, was compelled to tweet:
Remember the name @AasifAli2018
