LAHORE: Punjab faces a new challenge in the form of dengue as 244 new cases and one death was reported in the last 24 hours in the province.
Provincial Health Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch said that 186 cases were reported from Lahore only. The total number of cases in the province has swelled to 18,479.
The total number of cases from Lahore stood at 13,812. A total of 69 deaths have been reported so far, including the recent casualty reported from Lahore.
Dengue is wreaking havocs in the federal capital Islamabad and various cities of the country. A hike in cases has also been reported from Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
