ISLAMABAD: Addressing the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chief – who remains incarcerated in several cases -Imran Khan wrote a letter on Wednesday, urging the global lending body to call for an audit of the General Elections 2024 before entering into a dialogue with the incoming government for political stability in the country.
This was revealed by the PTI leadership in a press conference on Wednesday. Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Omar Ayub, Meher Bano Qureshi, and Muzammil Aslam were talking to the media.
Barrister Gohar revealed that the letter was crafted by Khan’s spokesperson Raoof Hasan and had already been handed over to the IMF resident representative in the country. He said that the letter would be opened in Washington following which, its contents will be disclosed to the media houses.
He stressed that Khan did not want any adverse effects on the people of Pakistan and that the sole intention of writing the letter was reminding the IMF of its guidelines that direct it to ensure that free and fair polls are conducted in member countries.
