On Saturday, the two biggest opposition parties Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz (PML-N) decided to consider all parliamentary and legal options to oust the incumbent government.

PML-N leader Shehbaz Sharif held a formal lunch meeting at his residence in Model Town, attended by PPP leaders Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Asif Ali Zardari. Sharif said that both parties had agreed to use all political and legal options to dismiss the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government.

Bilawal emphasised the importance of the no-confidence motion and said that it’s the only valid democratic mechanism. Sharif added that all discussed pointers regarding PPP and PML-N coordination would be discussed with Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Democratic Movement subsequently. Regarding the participation in PDM’s long march, the PPP leader Bilawal said that they would inform about the decision later, but they welcomed the announcement.

Bilawal thanked Sharif for the luncheon and praised his performance as the opposition leader. On the question about PPP splitting ways earlier, the PML-N leader said that there was always an option to reunite broken hearts.  Vice President PML-N Maryam Nawaz also said that the difficult situation of people united both parties despite clashes and differences.

Both parties criticised the PTI government regarding economic conditions, tackling terrorism, non-implementation of the National Action Plan and mishandling the Kashmir issue.
