ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan assured the Afghan delegation, led by acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi, here on Friday that Pakistan would favourably consider its request of allowing Indian wheat to be transported to war-torn country via Pakistan.

The prime minister said that Pakistan would do so on an “exceptional basis” because of the looming humanitarian crisis next door. According to the details shared by the prime minister’s office, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to support the Afghan people in their tough times.

Prime Minister Imran Khan hoped that the Afghan government would continue to engage with Pakistan in a constructive manner and would continue to work towards redressing challenges faced by the Afghan people and the government.

He also conveyed how a stable Afghanistan was integral to maintaining peace in Pakistan and the wider region.
