KARACHI: According to a news report by ARY, the national flag-carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), has blacklisted a passenger, Syed Wasi, holding dual nationality of Canada, after it emerged that he had faked a heart attack on a Toronto-bound flight recently.

The flight had to make an emergency landing at the Jinnah International Airport following complaints of chest pain by Wasi. Renowned philanthropist Muhammad Ramzan Chhipa had taken to Twitter to share that the emergency landing had cost the PIA an estimated Rs12.5 million – a claim later corroborated by the PIA spokesperson.

Wasi was shifted to a nearby hospital immediately where his vitals were checked and he was tested for myocardial infarction. His reports came normal, suggesting that he had faked the chest discomfort in order to force the pilots to land the plane at the Jinnah International Airport.
