Pakistan shows progress in battle against Covid

KARACHI: In the last 24 hours, 544 people have recovered from the coronavirus, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 1,223,531. The total confirmed cases stand at 1,274,578, while 1,313 are still in critical condition.

In Punjab, 164 new cases and five deaths have been reported. The total number of cases has swelled to 440,542 with the death tally in the province hovering around the grim benchmark of 13,000.

In the last 24 hours, 69 new cases have been reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with the total cases amounting to 178,204 and the total death toll standing at 5,754. Balochistan’s total infected cases have risen to 33,274 as the province has recorded seven more cases.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad altogether reported 52 cases in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, Sindh recorded 263 new coronavirus cases along with two deaths. The total number of cases in the province has gone up to 469,685, whereas the death toll currently standing at 7,571.
