Pakistan reports more 2,870 Covid cases

Pakistan reports 32 deaths during last 24 hours; 5,327 new cases recorded

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported less than 3,000 Covid-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day. According to the figures shared by National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 51,667 people were tested for the virus resulting in 2,870 positive cases.

The positivity rate was recorded at 5.6 per cent, remaining consistently under 6pc. The highest number of cases were reported by Sindh with 1,013 patients and 9 deaths. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stood behind with 943 cases and 14 deaths, followed by Punjab with 583 cases and 13 deaths.

Islamabad had 141 Covid-19 cases and reported one death, whereas Azad Jammu & Kashmir had 136 cases along with 3 deaths. Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan collectively reported 54 cases.

The total number of recovered cases stand at 1,393,209, including the 4,692 recovered patients in the last 24 hours. Of the 71,167 active coronavirus cases, 1,495 remain under critical care.
