Pakistan reports below 5pc Covid positivity rate for straight fourth day

ISLAMABAD: The number of Covid-19 cases has come down in the country during the last 24 hours as Pakistan reported less than 1,500 cases for the first time since January 10.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 41,597 people were tested, resulting in 1,360 Covid-19 positive cases. The positivity rate stood at 3.26 per cent, recording a below five per cent rate for the fourth consecutive day.

Sindh reported the most number of cases with 555 coronavirus patients. Punjab & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 339 and 257 cases respectively. Islamabad had 75 Covid-19 cases, while Azad Jammu & Kashmir reported 70 cases. Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan collectively reported 64 cases.

Total 33 people passed away due to Covid-19 during the said period with 1,386 patients still remaining under critical care.
