Pakistan reports 3,498 Covid cases in past 24 hours

Pakistan reports nearly 1300 Covid cases; Sindh mulls over lockdown

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) shared the numbers of Covid-related deaths and confirmed positive cases here on Friday morning on its Twitter account. According to the Covid watchdog in the country, Pakistan reported 3,498 cases during the last 24 hours.

A total of 58,077 people were tested for coronavirus, of which 3,498 tested positive. The Covid positivity rate has also come down to 6.02 per cent, compared to 7.2pc a day earlier. The NCOC noted that 39 more people succumbed to the much-dreaded virus, bringing the total tally of Covid deaths to 29,687 in the country.

The number of patients on critical care stands at 1,663 in the country at the moment, down 1,716 previously. According to the data available, Punjab reported the most number of deaths with 24, followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with five, Islamabad with five, Sindh with four, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir with one.
