Pakistan look to settle records with New Zealand in Sharjah

SHARJAH: After a convincing 10-wicket win over arch-rivals India, Pakistan are eyeing to take on New Zealand at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The match will take place at 7:00 pm (PST).

Pakistan and New Zealand have played 24 T20 internationals with each other with Pakistan in the lead with 14 wins. At the T20 world cups, the two sides have met on five occasions. The national team just managed to hold the lead with three wins against New Zealand’s two.

Mohammad Hafeez is the highest individual run-scorer with a score of 99* whereas Martin Guptill stands out for the Black Caps with the highest score of 87*. Umer Gul has the best bowling figures against the Kiwis with 5/6 at the 2009 T20 world cup while Tim Southee shines for New Zealand with 5/18 against Pakistan at Eden Parks back in 2007.

Pakistan will most likely field an unchanged team. Captain Babar Azam has already told the men in green to not lose focus after the win against India.
