ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf has accepted the resignations of 35 more MNAs from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf who had resigned enmasse last year, protesting the ouster of the former prime minister Imran Khan via no-confidence vote.
While the resignations had been submitted since April last year, the Speaker Assembly only partially accepted them this week when the PTI hinted at going back to the parliament in a bid to file a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaker Assembly has accepted the resignations of 80 PTI MNAs ensuring that the party does not have the numbers to ouster the government. The news was shared by the National Assembly of Pakistan’s Twitter account.
