SWAT: More than 2,800 girls were unable to get admission due to a shortage of seats at the only available postgraduate institute for girls in Saidu Sharif.

According to the residents, there is a lack of girls’ colleges in the area as there was only one college for them in an area having 784,000 people. The residents complained that despite securing A-grade in FSc and FA, their daughters were unable to secure admission.

According to a Dawn news report, College officials said that 3,198 girls applied to the college whereas the capacity was 320. Despite the principal’s approval of accommodating 80 more seats, only 400 students can get admitted to the institute.
