ISLAMABAD: Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, the PTI Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan said that US Assistant Secretary of State Donald Lu’s testimony before the Congressional committee had vindicated the stance of the former prime minister Imran Khan on conspiracy.
He said that Lu had acknowledged the existence of the cipher in his testimony and only rejected its alleged contents. It is pertinent to mention here that the former Pakistan ambassador to the US Asad Majeed had admitted the veracity of the cipher on two occasions before the National Security Committee.
It had led to the then Pakistan government issuing a demarche to the US over what it had called “grave interference”. According to Hasan, the US administration had expressed its displeasure over Khan’s visit to Russia in 2022 against the backdrop of the Russia-Ukraine war.
