LAHORE: Justice Shahid Waheed has dismissed a petition filed by Geo Entertainment Television Pvt Ltd in Lahore High Court against the bidding process for the TV broadcast rights of the HBL Pakistan Super League in Pakistan here on Tuesday.

According to a press release by the Pakistan Cricket Board, LHC refused to give any relief on Geo’s petition after hearing the arguments from counsels, reviewing the bid documents and the media release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board on 28 December 2021 explaining the bid process.

A consortium of ARY and PTV had won the bidding rights after submitting the highest bid exceeding the reserve price set by the PCB. Geo Entertainment had taken the PCB to the court over what it called a ‘controversial’ bidding process and had accused it of misconduct.

The HBL PSL will be broadcast live on PTV Sports and A-Sports.
