Lawlessness in Karachi

Citizens Police Liaison Committee report: 52,000 cases of street crimes occurred in Karachi

THE law and order situation is quite unsatisfactory in our city. Everybody is worried about the ever-growing lawlessness. Mobile snatching, car lifting, robberies, theft and other illegal activities are increasing on a daily basis. People do not feel safe anywhere. If the present situation persists, Karachi will soon be declared the most dangerous city in the world to live in.

That criminals have sheer disregard for the law, disobey it, violate rules & regulations and decide matters at gunpoint speaks volumes of the poor performance by the law enforcement authorities. It appears as if the law enforcement agencies have become silent spectators.

Criminals are encouraged by the lack of action on part of the authorities concerned. People are scared to carry their belongings with them outside because of the indifference of the top brass of the State.

I would urge the authorities concerned to look into the matter to improve the law and order situation in Karachi.
