Karachi’s population is not less than four crores, Farooq Sattar urges citizens to participate in census

Karachi: Senior leader of MQM Pakistan, Farooq Sattar, has shown reservations over the census in Karachi. Farooq Sattar said that although the census has commenced in Karachi, there is a chance of match-fixing.

While talking to the press conference at the Bahadurabad centre of MQM, Farooq Sattar said that census is conducted after every ten years in the country, but previously it was organised after 17 years. He added that the ongoing census is initiated after five years, and all the credit goes to MQM Pakistan. The leader of MQM Pakistan said that in 2017, a great injustice was done to Karachi, as the population was shown to be less than half.

Regarding the time period of the census, the senior political leader briefed that the first phase would take place from February 20 to March 2 and the second phase would continue from March 1 to March 30.

Karachi Census

  • During the month of March, 500 houses in each neighbourhood will be counted.
  • From March 1 to March 15, residents from 250 houses will be counted.
  • From March 16 to March 30, another 250 houses will be counted.

Farooq Sattar has requested the citizens of Karachi to participate as it is their responsibility to make themselves enumerated. According to MQM Pakistan’s leader, the population of Karachi is not less than four crores.
