The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast indicating a rise in temperatures for Karachi beginning today, following a stretch of cloudy weather. Residents can expect hot and humid conditions over the next 24 hours as sea winds have ceased, and northwesterly winds are now blowing at 18 kilometres per hour.
The PMD has reported a minimum temperature of 30.4°C, with expectations for the maximum temperature to range between 35°C and 37°C. Humidity levels are currently at 73 per cent, contributing to the overall heat intensity.
In a bit of respite, the PMD has mentioned a chance of drizzle or light rain in the evening or during the night, which may provide some relief from the oppressive heat.
Despite the rising temperatures, the PMD has ruled out the possibility of another heatwave hitting Karachi. Additionally, the PMD has predicted a new monsoon spell that is likely to affect Sindh, including Karachi, starting from July 18 or 19.
