Karachi faces power-cuts spanning over 16 hours

KARACHI: Multiple areas of the metropolitan city are facing unannounced power cuts of over 16 hours. The exempted areas are suffering from over six hours of loadshedding.

According to a spokesperson of K-Electric, a fault has been detected in the first unit of Station-3 located at Bin Qasim Power Station. He added that the unit was offline and it would take 8-10 weeks for power restoration.

PIB colony is facing a two hours power cut, four times a day. Lyari, Shah Faisal Colony, Malir, Landhi, Korangi, Hijrat Colony, Metropole, Site area, and Baldia are going through a load-shedding of 8-12 hours on a daily basis.
