Indian military chopper carrying CDS Gen Bipin Rawat crashes

NEW DELHI: An Indian military chopper with India Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat onboard has crashed in Tamil Nadu, as per Indian media reports.

According to a tweet by the Indian Air Force, an IAF Mi-17V5 helicopter crashed near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. The air force said that it was investigating the matter as to what caused the crash.

As per sources, there were 14 people onboard including the CDS and his wife. Of the 14, four have been pronounced dead, meanwhile three others who are seriously injured have been rescued.
