KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: As per the data shared by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), the Covid positivity ratio has climbed to 8.7 per cent in the last 24 hours across the country. Meanwhile, the test positivity ratio has jumped over 40pc in Karachi.

Nearly 4,500 people tested positive in the country, of which 2,670 were reported from Sindh only. Punjab reported 1,131 cases followed by Islamabad with 413, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 112, Azad Jammu and Kashmir with eight, and Balochistan with six.

Meanwhile, the Covid situation in Karachi is worsening with each passing day. The test positivity ratio was reported around a whopping 40pc in the provincial capital in the last 24 hours. The murmurs of lockdown fell on deaf ears as the Sindh Government is not willing to impose the lockdown to curb the virus despite the visible surge in the virus.
