General Asim Munir maintains firm stance on relations with Iran, Afghanistan and India

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir emphasised the pivotal role of economic stability in achieving complete independence during his address at the Green Pakistan Initiative conference on Friday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Munir highlighted the significance of economic prosperity, stating that true independence is unattainable without first ensuring stability in the economy. His remarks, echoed by state-run APP and Radio Pakistan, underscored the importance of initiatives like the Green Pakistan Initiative in fostering economic growth and national development.

The Green Pakistan Initiative, spearheaded by the federal government, aims to modernise farming practices on 4.4 million acres of land nationwide. With a projected revenue target of $40 billion over the next five years and the creation of four million jobs, the initiative seeks to revolutionise the agricultural sector through partnerships with friendly countries and support from the armed forces.

General Munir reaffirmed the military’s commitment to supporting the initiative, emphasising the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders in driving Pakistan’s development journey forward. He dismissed negative propaganda and social media distractions, urging collective focus on the nation’s path towards prosperity.

Highlighting the importance of agriculture, General Munir reiterated the country’s dedication to prioritising the agricultural sector to revive the Green Revolution and bolster economic growth. He outlined plans to establish “agricultural malls” across all districts, providing farmers with essential facilities and resources while pledging to combat all forms of mafias hindering agricultural progress.

In his address, General Munir called for unity in rejecting negative forces and maintaining focus on Pakistan’s journey towards progress and stability. With concerted efforts and the support of the people, he expressed confidence in overcoming obstacles and realising the nation’s potential for growth and prosperity.
