Careem launches women driver service.

One of the most popular ride-hailing services in Pakistan, Careem, has announced one of its new initiatives to facilitate female customers.

According to details, Careem has planned to launch a women-driven motorbike service. In the new service, women drivers will pick up rides for female customers and the first phase of service will commence in Karachi. Later it will make its way across Pakistan.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR WOMEN BIKERS
Careem has opened the registrations for women who want to work as female Captains. The initiative will not only provide flexible income opportunities to women but also bring diversity to the ride-hailing sector.

The platform has launched two modes for bikers:
Part-time: Where a female biker can work for five hours and make up to Rs30,000 monthly.
Full-time: Where a female biker can provide her service for 10 hours and earn up to Rs50,000 monthly.

For registration, interested candidates can visit Careem’s centres in DHA and Gulshan or contact them through their official Facebook page. Around, 1,700 females have already been appointed as Careem captains.

General Manager of Ride-Hailing at Careem Pakistan, Imran Saleem said women are an integral part of society and a large number of customers are female. He highlighted that women-driven motorbike services would provide female customers with safe, reliable and affordable transport. Imran added that Careem has provided an additional income opportunity in this tough economic situation.

The move to bridge the gap between female customers and women drivers will pave the way for a secure ride experience and easy commuting opportunities. Most importantly, women can avail this chance to support their families, finance their education, and gain financial independence.

However, Careem has to design a vigilant monitoring system to assure the safety of women captains as currently, Karachi has seen a serious rise in street crimes.
