BlackBerry has announced that its devices will not function after January 4. Anyone still using the device will no longer be able to access the BlackBerry services. General services like text messages, phone calls, or emergency calls will also become disabled.

BlackBerry launched its last operating system back in 2013. It announced in early 2022 to take the services offline. In its statement, the once-popular brand said that the decision would be applicable on Blackberry Protect, BlackBerry Blend, BlackBerry Desktop Manager, BlackBerry Link, BlackBerry hosted email, Identity Based Licensing (IBL), Enhanced Sim Based Licensing (ESBL).

However, the new AI-based BlackBerry Protect will not be affected. Since 2013, many users have already shifted towards Android or iOS.
