Cricket Australia announced an 18-member Test squad ahead of Pakistan tour in early hours of Tuesday. The Test side, as expected, will be led by Australian star pace bowler Pat Cummins.
Australia are scheduled to play three Tests, as many One-Day Internationals and one T20I on their tour starting from next month. Despite much hoopla surrounding some players backing out from the series, Cricket Australia has announced a full strength Australian side for Tests.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Tests are part of the World Test Championship and both sides will be aiming to collect as many points as they could from the series. Australia will be touring without a full-time coach after Justin Langer resigned last week in a controversial manner despite winning The Ashes 4-0 and the T20 World Cup 2021.
Members of the Australian Test squad are: Pat Cummins (c), Ashton Agar, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Michael Neser, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Swepson, David Warner
