ISLAMABAD: The Finance Division has issued a notification regarding the petroleum prices. The notification states that the petrol prices be increased by Rs10.49 per litre. The new price of petrol will be Rs137.79/ltr. High-speed diesel’s price is raised by Rs12.44/ltr and will now sell at Rs134.48.
The increase in prices was also applied to kerosene and light diesel oil, which will now sell at Rs110.26/ltr and Rs108.35/ltr, respectively.
The global increase in oil prices is blamed for the hike in prices, according to the notification.
“Entire energy chain prices have witnessed a strong surge in the past couple of months due to higher demand for energy inputs and supply bottlenecks,” reads a quote from the notification.
Earlier this month, the petroleum prices were previously hiked by Rs.4/ltr.
