Aamir asks not to boycott LaalSingh Chaddah, assures audience he loves India

One of the most anticipated Bollywood movies, Laal Singh Chaddha, is once again facing a setback on its release as social media camping has been ignited against the film. After facing a two-year delay due to the pandemic, the Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer received boycott threats from the audience as over 70,000 Tweets have been posted with #BoycottlaalSinghChaddha.

While giving an interview to a private channel, Aamir said that it’s unfortunate that people think I don’t like India. He requested not to boycott the movie. The hate campaign started after a series of events. Kareena Kapoor made a comment on nepotism, stating that people should not watch her movies if they do not wish to. Then Aamir was alleged to make anti-Hindu content. Some people also attributed the movement of asking for justice for Sushant Singh to the hate campaign for Laal Singh Chaddah.

In 2015, Mr Perfectionist commented ‘intolerant India’ and showed concern for his wife, Kiran. He said that she fears the atmosphere surrounding the country. But in the recent interview, Aamir clarified that he never said India is intolerant or anything about leaving the country. The Dangal star clarified that his statement was misunderstood. Aamir Khan added that he was born in India and would die in the country as well.
