More than 7,000 Covid cases reported in Pakistan for fifth consecutive day

ISLAMABAD: The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has tweeted the Covid-19 numbers in Pakistan for the last 24 hours. For the consecutive fifth day, more than 7,000 positive cases have been reported all across the country.

According to the stats, the health authorities conducted 61,077 tests resulting in 7,048 Covid positive cases. The positivity ratio was recorded at 11.53 per cent. Punjab reported the highest number of cases with 2,107 followed by Sindh with 1,670 and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reporting 1,647. The federal capital reported 1,024 coronavirus cases, while Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir collectively reported 600 patients.

The death toll during the last 24 hours reached 21, while 1,423 patients remain under critical care. The surge in Covid-19 cases has also resulted in the closure of 20 schools in Peshawar.
