Instagram users can now easily download Insta Reels with the latest update. Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram, briefed that the app would allow all users around the globe to download public Reels on their mobile and digital devices. Earlier users were able to save Reels to the Instagram app and view them later with a working internet connection.
According to the new Instagram update, the downloaded Reels would carry a watermark of Instagram watermark and the account name.
How To Download Insta Reels
To download the Reel, a user can simply long-tap on it and click on the option of download.
Any account who wants to disable the download option as part of their privacy can use the following method:
Settings > Privacy > Reels & Remix > Tap on ‘Allow people to download your Reels’.
Users have to keep in mind that a Reel that uses a licensed audio clip would not carry the audio upon being downloaded. The soundtrack would only be present on Reels with original audio tracks.
In June, the US-based users got permission to download the Reels. Now, all users across the world can avail of the download option.
Earlier, the download option was available on TikTok which allowed content creators to share their work on several platforms and a wide range of public. News reports suggest that Instagram took the initiative to replicate its competition in the short video category.
