Test cricketer Yasir Shah has received a clean chit in the sexual assault case from the court after the victim retracted her statement regarding the player’s involvement in the case. Pakistan’s premier leg-spinner was named by the victim in a First Information Report (FIR) last month.
According to the details, Yasir’s friend Farhan had sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl in F-11 on August 14. He also filmed the victim and threatened to make the video viral if she retaliated. An FIR was registered on complaint of the victim on December 20, charging Farhan under sections 292-B, 292-C and 376 for rape and child pornography.
Yasir was named in the case for harassing the girl when she approached him for help. He allegedly threatened the victim of dire consequences if she tried to pursue the case.
However, as per recent updates, the victim withdrew the name of Yasir from the FIR stating that he had no connection with the matter.
