UPPER DARBY: A woman in suburban Phila¬delphia was raped in a train allegedly by Fiston Ngoy, 35. The incident got recorded on a surveillance camera which shows that none of the passengers intervened.
A representative of the South¬eastern Pennsylvania Trans¬portation Authority was on-board and informed the authorities of the incident.
The assailant was arrested at the next stop by SEPTA police and the woman was immediately taken away for medical care.
Timothy Bern¬hardt Superintendent Upper Darby Police Department said that the woman was incredibly brave and has provided all the necessary information. He was disappointed by the passengers’ behaviour, who did nothing to stop the assault.
“There was a lot of people, in my opinion, that should have intervened; somebody should have done something. It speaks to where we are in society; I mean, who would allow something like that to take place? So it’s troubling,” said Bernhardt.
