On Tuesday, a joint statement was issued by India and the United States of America, urging Pakistan for immediate action to ensure that the Pakistani land would not be used for terrorist activities.
According to the statement by the Consulates in India and US Embassy, India said that all forms of cross-border terrorism would be condemned. The statement further said that people involved in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks and Pathankot attacks should be brought to justice.
US Defense Secretary Defense Lloyd Austin and US Secretary of States Anothony Blinken met with Indian counterparts Rajnath Singh and S JaiShankar for a ‘2+2 dialogue’ – a format of a conversation between India and its strategic partners Japan, Australia, Russia and the US.
Both sides agreed to carry out concerted action against terrorist organisations like Hizb ul Mujahideen, Jaish-e-Muhammad, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba, Daesh, and Al-Qaeda.
