According to the United Nations, 54 countries, including Pakistan, are in dire need of debt relief amidst the ever-increasing global crises. In its report, the United Nations Development Programme warned that if substantial steps weren’t taken, there will remain risks of inaction.
Without investments amid the climate change and debt relief, poverty will increase to unprecedented levels in all the 54 countries. The UN added that it was a cause of concern because all the countries named in the list are vulnerable to climate change.
The reported urged the world leaders to take timely action to mitigate the effects of climate change and provide the countries the much-needed debt relief.
