ISLAMABAD: A recent report by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) stated that during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2022, exports of textile commodities have increased by 25.4 per cent.
According to the data by PBS, from July 2021 to March 2022, the exports reached $14,242.6 million, whereas from July 2020 to March 2021, the exports stood at $11,355.4 million. Substantial growth was recorded in the export of raw cotton.
The exports of cotton cloth jumped to $1,795.4 million from $1,419.1 million, showing a growth of 26.5pc. Carded cotton recorded exports of $1.632 million against last year’s exports of $0.064 million. Yarn exports grew to $48.18 million from $23.56 million. The exports of knitwear expanded to $3,729.6 million from $2,780.8 million.
