On Thursday, in two separate incidents, eight soldiers embraced martyrdom in North Waziristan.
In Datakhel tehsil, the soldiers’ vehicle was attacked by terrorists using grenades and assault guns in which seven soldiers were martyred, including Sepoy Jawad Mir, Sepoy Waqas, Sepoy Ijaz Ali, Sepoy Junaid, Sepoy Kashif, Sepoy Arshad and Havaldar Tariq. On the other hand, one soldier was martyred in Isham during an exchange of firing. The brave soul was identified as Sepoy Asamatullha Khan.
According to the information shared by the DG ISPR, 97 soldiers and officers were martyred in the first three months of 2022. The tally reached 105 after adding the said eight martyred soldiers. During this period, the security forces killed 128 terrorists and arrested 270.
