ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Jahangir Khan Tareen tweeted on Wednesday that he “never gave a penny for the household expense of Bani Gala”. His tweet comes in response to the allegations levelled against both him and Prime Minister Imran Khan by another former PTI leader Justice (R) Wajihuddin Ahmed.
Ahmed was speaking to a TV channel when he said that Khan used to get Rs5 million per month from Tareen to run his household expenses. He went on to say that the initial amount that Khan would get from the Tareen group was Rs3mn which was later increased to Rs5mn.
Tareen did not hold back from rubbishing the claims and tweeted that Khan never received even a dime from Tareen to run his personal residence, Bani Gala.
Regardless of the current status of my relationship with Imran khan, the truth must be told. I did whatever was in my capacity to help PTI in the quest to build a new Pakistan but I never gave a penny for the household expenses of Bani Gala. Just want to set the record straight.

Ahmed’s claims have already been rejected by Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Communication Dr Shahbaz Gill, stating that Ahmed is bitter about his removal from the party and thus makes such statements every now and then.
