Karachi: On Tuesday (1 August 2023) Educational institutions across Sindh reopened and continued their activities after summer vacations. Schools and colleges across Sindh had two-month summer holidays, after which the teaching process has now officially begun and educational activities are resumed.
Students returned to classes with new books as the new academic year officially started. But, the ninth, tenth, and intermediate sections faced issues with the availability of the curriculum books. Sindh Textbook Board has shown disappointing progress by not completing the printing process on time and making books available in the market.
Meanwhile, the private school sector also faced the issue of sudden changes in curriculum. Subsequently, their syllabus is not available in the market.
Earlier, before the summer vacations got over, the Sindh Textbook Board pledged that the situation would be under control before the start of the new academic year. However, both government & private schools did not obtain the required syllabus.
Several government schools are relying on old textbooks. On the other hand, private schools provided only half of the required courses.
