SIALKOT: The Punjab police announced on Monday in a tweet that it had arrested seven more people in connection with the planning, torture, murder and burning of a Sri Lankan national Priyantha Kumara who worked at a factory here.
The unfortunate incident took place on Friday when Kumara was accused of committing blasphemy. The Punjab police has been making arrests ever since the case was reported and so far has apprehended 131 people, of which 26 played a key role in murdering Kumara.
Punjab police tweeted, “Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar and IG Punjab are constantly monitoring the investigation of the case. The Chief Minister Punjab has assigned the task of prosecuting the case to the Secretary Prosecution.”
It also added that the suspects will be presented to the Anti-Terrorism Court today.
