London: According to media reports, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met his elder brother and supremo of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif, and had a detailed discussion on multiple issues. The duo talked about when to hold the general elections and possible changes in the Punjab government.
Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Defence Minister Khuwaja Asif, is in London to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. Shehbaz and Nawaz met at the office of Hussain Nawaz situated in Stanhope House. While discussing important matters, the Sharif brothers decided that the coalition government would complete its tenure and hold the general elections in the stipulated time. They also talked about replacing the Punjab government and considered nominating Hamza Shehbaz as a candidate for the chief minister position. Suleman Shehbaz and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar were present during the meeting.
While talking to the media, Khawaja Asif commented that the appointment of the army chief should not be politicised. His comment links to the remarks made by PTI chief Imran Khan who said that the current government wants to appoint an army chief of their choice to evade the cases of corruption.
