KARACHI: In what can be safely termed a surprise move, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday named Shan Masood the vice-captain of the Pakistan cricket team for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.
Masood last played an ODI for Pakistan nearly four years ago against Australia. The announcement has drawn some criticism from the fans – a majority of whom are of the opinion that Masood does not even warrant a place in the ODI team.
Shan Masood will be heading PCB in about 10 years at this rate. https://t.co/q984bwD1aq

PR is not just about paying people off, it is also about creating an image of yourself to influence public/media perception. If you think someone is a "sensible, consistent leader" without any real proof, ask yourself if you're describing Shan Masood's image or Shoaib Malik's.

From nothing at all to being Fakhar's temporary replacement in one t20wc to taking up the all-important mantle of no3 to vice captain in ODIs. In a matter of weeks really. It's mad.
