KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued an official statement about exchanging old banknotes. The date to exchange the large-sized and old-designed banknotes of 1,000, 100, 50, and 10 has been extended to December 31, 2022. The federal government de-monetised the old currency notes of four denominations six years ago.

According to the statement, the public can reach out to the Banking Service Corporations (BSC) of SBP and commercial banks’ branches to exchange the old notes. The statement added that banknotes could be exchanged in BSC Offices located in DI Khan, Muzaffarabad, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Sialkot, Hyderabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Lahore and Karachi.
