The critical situation for Ukraine is worsening further as Russian tanks have started to enter Kyiv on Tuesday. A convoy of Russian tanks spreading to 40 miles can be seen in visuals from a satellite.
Meanwhile, the Russian army has started to settle checkpoints in the southern-city of Ukraine, Kherson. Mayor of Kherson, Igor Kolykhayev, said he would be responsible for the safety of citizens and has asked the residents not to leave homes during curfew hours.
In 2014, Russia annexed Kherson, which has a population of 280,000. The Russian forces claimed to gain control of Berdyansk and Kherson. On Monday, the ceasefire meeting was unable to reach a conclusion, and it’s uncertain when both sides would meet again for negotiations.
However, a representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin said that some common points were found during the meeting and more discussions could be done in future.
