Two Pakistan international cricketers, Mohammad Rizwan and Fatima Sana won the ICC awards on Sunday. In a first, Fatima became the first Pakistani woman cricketer ever to have won an ICC award. She was awarded the ICC Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year.
Rizwan, on the other hand, won the ICC’s T20I Cricketer of the Year award for a stellar 2021. Rizwan amassed 1,326 runs at a phenomenal batting average of 73.66, helping his side won many T20 internationals.
Meanwhile, Fatima proved that she belonged to the big stage and claimed 24 wickets at 23.95 apiece. She also scored crucial runs with the bat thereby establishing her rapport as a decent allrounder.
Rizwan tweeted that he was grateful to everyone for the support and love.

Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Ramiz Raja also congratulated the two players and also stated that the PCB had plans in place to hold a Women’s T20 league in the country.
