LAHORE: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry did not shy away from taking on the banned militant outfit, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) here on Monday stating that negotiations were only possible with TTP members who were respectful of the Constitution of the country.
He warned that in case the TTP disrespected the Constitution, the country would go to war with it as it has done previously. This is not the first time that Fawad has made such remarks. He had also previously said that negotiations will only be possible if the TTP respected the country’s Constitution.
It is pertinent to mention here that the TTP had unilaterally decided to end the ceasefire agreement a few days ago, accusing the government of failing to fulfill its promises.
The information minister appreciated the Afghan Taliban for trying to convince the TTP to act as per the ceasefire agreement.
